Awesome, thanks. BTW, placing the IPv4 entry in the hosts file ('127.0.0.1 localhost') above the IPv6 entry should make IPv4 the default resolution.

About the presentations, there were so many good and excelent of then, so a man should duplicate and triplicate to see all of them. I can hardly wait for the conference DVD's (I hope I can borrow them from someone hwo will receive them) and watch the presentations I've missed, but also to review the ones I've attended.

I was there too, so pretty much the same impressions. I was impressed by Shawn Wildermuth and Vladimir Tchalkov. I didn't see any of Castro' presentations, because I was on different track and also dislike that kind of presentation, but I'm very sorry that missed Ivana :) .

I was referring only to a VCS tools that i used so far. TFS is still too enterprise for me.

Regarding Tortoise i already said that this is our second default svn tool which means that you don't have to leave VS in order to perform basic operations. But, if you intend to do a branching, merging or other complex operation - then there's no better tool for that.

Just as reminder, Visual Source Safe is a product which last version 2005 is published before 3 years. However it's replaced by Team Foundation Server which is state of the art when team collaboration and performances are in mind. Comparable to Subversion, TFS is not just a source control but even more than that. Instead of that, Subversion is one of the ideal tools for small teams.

About the Tortois I can't agreed that is a nice tools because ruins developer productivity - for each operation I need to switch between VS and Explorer. AnkhSvn (which is very difficult to pronounce) is something else and looks interesting...

@nikola.solev: I didn't mentioned that we use AnkhSvn since we made the migration. The latest version (2.0.xxx) is quite impressive. I'll blog about it in a bit more detail soon.

@boban: Try downloading TortoiseSVN (our other default svn tool) and create a repository on your machine. You'll be surprised on the low impact that svn has on performance. It also uses file system for repository as VSS does, but it's way more effective. It handles the file history very well so the i/o operations are greatly reduced. Highly recommend.

I've never used SVN so I'm curious what is the performance impact of it on the machine where the server is placed. To translate, is it usefull in a scenario where SVN server is on the developer machine.
