I'm sure for most of you this is already old news - but for me this is The news of the day:

Microsoft is going to make jQuery part of the official dev platform. jQuery will come with Visual Studio in the long term, and in the short term it'll ship with ASP.NET MVC. We'll also ship a version includes Intellisense in Visual Studio.

For me, this is first time to see that Microsoft will include an Open Source project into their main development product, if not at any product level too.

This is definitely the way a would like to see Microsoft is heading. Embracing good tools is a pragmatic approach, as opposite to creating analogous tools that are half as good as the original ones. Credit to the asp.net team (for me the most pragmatic team in Redmond by far).

One other thing that I'm glad about is that we recently started to consider jQuery as our JavaScript framework of choice, based on a really good feedback from the community. And this news just proved our decision!
